Every Canadian Should Be Concerned
A recent Global News investigation revealed that at least 450 individuals with roles in Hamas are reported to have ties to Canada.
These individuals range from permanent residents and relatives of Canadians to citizens of Canada, including Usama Ali, an alleged Hamas financier who is sanctioned by the U.S. government.
The report underscores that Hamas is not only a danger to Israelis and Palestinians, but a threat to Canadians.
And over the past two years, pro-Hamas supporters and extremists have taken to Canadian streets – glorifying “martyrs,” radicalizing youth, inciting violence, and harassing families in their own neighbourhoods.
Parliament must act decisively to confront Hamas and other terror threats to Canadians.

Hamas is a global menace.
In October, European authorities arrested five suspects in a coordinated operation that disrupted Hamas-linked plots targeting civilians in Berlin and other cities.
According to security sources, Canada continues to be exploited as a base for Hamas-linked individuals, putting Canadians at risk and helping enable terrorism overseas. The Global News Report revealed that:
- A Canadian citizen alleged to be a senior Hamas executive, involved in running the terror group’s financial network.
- Individuals in Canada allegedly tied to Hamas’s money-moving operations, including crypto accounts used to transfer funds for terrorism abroad.
- A growing list of people with roles in a listed terrorist entity who hold Canadian status or family connections here.
Parliament can act now to confront Hamas and other terror threats to Canadians, by:
- Preventing Hamas-linked actors from entering or operating in Canada.
- Strengthening and enforcing anti-terror laws to ensure participation in a banned terrorist group has real consequences and introducing a stand-alone “promotion of terrorism” offence.
- Coordinating international efforts to sanction Hamas at the UN and cut off its access to global financial networks.
