Strengthen Security
The terrorist attack on a Manchester synagogue during Yom Kippur was horrific. Perpetrated by Jihad Al-Shamie, a British citizen of Syrian descent, it must be a wake-up call to all governments:
The path of hate and radicalization leads to the murder of Jews.
A government’s number one responsibility is to protect its people. We need our federal and provincial governments to significantly increase their investments in the security of our community.
Because we also saw in Manchester that, when terror strikes, security readiness and preventative measures save lives.
Our Canadian Jewish community has been stepping up in our preparedness. While governments have increased support, we need even greater investment in practical measures to keep people safe at Jewish institutions. This includes emergency training, security guards, protective technology and barriers, and more.
Tell our federal and provincial leaders: It’s time to strengthen the security of the Jewish community.
